Spring Bunnies
I am really feeling that spring fever. Even though it's been a bit rainy her. I will take rain over snow any day.

My Spring Patterns are on Print & Pattern Blog
I have been having an exciting week. First I receive the Work/Life book that I am in and now I wake up to discover that Print and Pattern blog (which I have previously stated that I LOVE) has posted some of my new patterns.

Work/Life Book
I am so excited to be part of Uppercase Gallery's Work/Life Book. There is so many great illustrators and interviews in it. I am slowly working my way through it. If you want to flip through the whole book go here. I have been reading Uppercase's blog for a while now and it has amazing designer's and illustrators showcased in their books and magazines. I don't know how Janine Vangool does it all.

Soccer Dress-up doll
My son's soccer team has their last game this Saturday and that motivated me to do a Soccer Dress-up doll. I could go on and on with these dress up dolls and probably will...
Also tomorrow Bryce and I are going to see Library of the Early Mind at the Rosenbach. I posted about this awhile ago. Come if you can!

Birthday Invitation
I did my son Max's birthday invitation based on his very precise direction. (He is the most difficult art director I have worked for). He loves dressing up and originally wanted everybody to dress up for his party as US Presidents since his birthday fell on President's Day this year. But then he kept adding other costumes his friends could dress up as. I finally had to cut him off when I ran out of room and time.

I wish I was a Snow Bunny, but I'm not...
I really wish I liked the snow, but I hate it. I hate the cold. I hate the ice. I just want it to be spring. Living in Philadelphia January through March is the worst. I wish I was someone who would go skiing and snowboarding and all that fun stuff, but all I want to do it sit by the fire and wait for spring. I've noticed other people posting flowers and such is anticipation of warmer weather, but my mind can't get past that right now so here is my Snow Bunny.

The Borrowers
Bryce, the 2 boys and I went to see the play "The Borrowers" this weekend at the Arden Theatre in Philadelphia. The children's plays they put on are so amazing. The scenery and stage design are impressive. The acting is great, you forget about the "acting" and really get into the characters and the story.
Go see it if you can. It ends Jan. 30, 2011 (even if you don't have kids)

Print and Pattern blog is the BEST thing EVER!
No, I am not exaggerating in the least. LOVE this blog Print & Pattern. It has introduced me to so many great illustrators and designers. I can't say enough good things about it. I check it out at least once a day.
This is just a sample of the great artwork you will find on her blog.

I love to buy art and you should too!
Buying art just makes me happy and one of my favorite artists to buy art from is Martha Rich. She has a new show opening up in NYC at Culture Fix. Here is one of my favorite pieces. See the rest at Sloan Fine Art Projects.

Speaking of Holiday Cards...
I did not send mine out this year. I was SO on schedule. They were designed and ordered by Dec.9th, but they arrived late and then the holidays just got away from me. While I have sent holiday cards out the week between Christmas and New Year's before, the 1st week in January just seems a little silly. Maybe I will start sending out Groundhog day cards...
So here is the card that never went out with my two boys sitting on Santa's lap.

Also here some little "My favorite thing" illustrations I did for a quick project.
Holiday Card
The illustrator Scott Bakal sent me his holiday card. Illustration on the front is gorgeous, but I just LOVE this little guy on the back.

I'm Back
Since November 18th, which was my last post, I have been working at my occasional graphic design freelance job. It feels like it all just flew by. And now 2011 has hit me with my annual "why am I not a more organized person" rant. So here I am again, hopefully writing several times a week. So just wanted to check in and get my typing finger warmed up.
Here's a painting I did for my friend after seeing the Nara exhibit in NYC. It was referencing his painting "Girl with her Head in the Clouds"
